Looking for a new hobby?
At Bridgnorth Station we have lots of different ways to occupy your spare time...
If you're good with the public, fairly quick with numbers for ticket price allocations (using a calculator), and can interpret timetables to advise visitors where they can go and how long it takes, then maybe the ticket office is your perfect role!
If you're good with the public, friendly and polite, observant, keep to help, methodical and tidy, then maybe the shop is your perfect location!
If you're good with the public, smart and tidy, polite and observant, keen to assist and advise, and can learn the answers to the frequently asked questions, then maybe platform staff is your niche!
Restoration and maintenance of station
If you're good with your hands, don't mind getting mucky, prefer not to have to deal with the public, like making things, can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear (well, not quite..), and like working in a team to your own schedule without having to fuss about train times, then maybe the restoration and maintenance team is your perfect spot!
We have volunteers from all walks of life, and some may not even be train enthusiasts, but enjoy the friendly atmosphere.
To be a working member, you must be a member of the Severn Valley Railway, to be insured. Click here to download a membership leaflet.
Working members also have certain benefits, including discount on shop and buffet purchases, a monthly newsletter updating them on internal news, travel pass, car park permit, and the opportunity to meet new friends and learn new skills.
