Railings - platform 2 chipping off old paint, undercoating, top coating, completed and looking so much better! Platform 1 still do do.

UPDATE: Platform 2 railings are now complete.

Waiting Room, platform 2 - rebuild of roof complete. Work under way inside, painting ceiling, walls, bench, followed by cleaning floor.

UPDATE: Waiting Room now complete - you can warm yourself by our fire while waiting for your train. We aim to put up a series of display boards, describing the history of the station from the initial plans in 1858 to the present day. We have plenty of data from 1966 onwards, but if anyone has any detail pre-1966 (ie GWR rather than SVR) please could we scan or copy it?

Benches, Station Store (good wet weather job) - sanding and repainting

UPDATE: The benches are Pitch Pine, which is a soft wood. By using our own resources, the repair to the one that has been on platform 2 for a long while will be significantly less than £100. A start has been made; both of the wooden benches require new ends. We plan on keeping these under the canopy on platform 1 once they are complete.

Entrance Lobby and Booking Hall - redecoration: new plasterwork needed as the gutters leaked. New plastering once walls dried out. Rubbing down, undercoat, topcoat in lighter colour.

UPDATE: Booking hall completed; new light fittings needed. Entrance lobby replastered, undercoated, topcoated; looking much lighter and brighter.

Platform 1 light standards - under way - the luminaires are now being planned, once a design can be agreed upon.
